Went for Cam belt change. Dropped off in the morning, ready by mid-afternoon but was unable to pick up due to work. I had already informed Halfords of this and they stored it on the premises overnight. Paid through instalment plan which made it more comfortable as never the cheapest of jobs.
Did my MOT on schedule and provided good customer service. Booked and paid online. No issues.
MOT test, Failed first time round on Nearside Front brake excessively fluctuating and battery not secure. Got quoted 240 for front disc and pads (Cheap Eicher ones) Went to another garage for the work to be carried out costing only 190 with a new caliper too. After returning for the re-test, it was cancelled by them due to the MOT guy phoning in sick. Rescheduled for the following day i was told it had Failed for the second time on Offside front service brake and Parking brake (which didn't fail the first time around) Spoke to MOT tester he tried telling me the parking brake was effected due to my brakes being done, now i know my parking brake is linked to my rear brakes NOT the front! He then simply said "sometimes passes, sometimes fails" I took the car to another MOT tester to check the work and told me my parking brake was fine and pointed out my rear brake hoses were excessively deteriorated and needed doing! Why did they miss that and try conning me instead?!
Work was carried out in a good time, the staff were friendly. However they neglected to tell me that they had taken out my car seats and placed them back in the car. Had I not noticed the seat belt in an odd position I wouldn't have known they were not fitted as I left them (I have three in the back so they slot together) This put my children at risk.
