Do not use this company at any cost.We have moved several times over the past few years and unfortunately the companies that we have used before were busy. So we called these guys. Their quote was almost twice the price of the other companies but they could move us. They said that that was their price as they are BAR members and thus give a better service.So as time was running out, I agreed .Day of the move came and they sent the van, with 2 guys to move a 3 bedroom house. Previously we had always had 3 or 4 men.So, they get most of the lorry loaded and then tell me that there is not enough room in the lorry for the plants, which had been shown to Lyndse who quoted for the job. Could we take them. So we love loaded up the vehicles with them and moved them to the new property.The lorry then moved to the new house around 2.30pm and at around 3 pm the guys start mentioning that they are due to finish at 4pm!!!!! They state this several times.So, as my wife was getting upset and agitated about when the van would be unloaded and that in the contract it states that they have the right to charge if they need to suplsu extra labour, we asked if they would like a hand.3 of us then spent 2 hours each unloading the lorry. Climbing all over it to get the good down and taking it into the house.If we had left them to unload the lorry themselves, I do not think they would have completed it before 10pm, which obviously is not acceptable.So on the Monday morning I complained and I was told that someone would phone me back that day. On the tuesTue, I phoned and was told by Lyndsey that, she was glad I phoned and she was in the process of emailing me.I then did not receive anything!!!!!On the Wednesday, I contacted BAR, who sent me atge complaints procedure. Part of which states that all BAR members have 3 days to reply.I did not receive a reply for over a week !!!!Her response to my complaint was a joke. I was told that as all of my goods got moved, it was fine. I was also told that as I had offered to assist to unload, it was my choice. I only offered to assist as they had told us they were finishing at 4 and there was no way that they would finish on their own.I have also been told since, that neither we nor our goods would have been covered by their insurance!!!!!!So, I complained througb the BAR, who refer every complaint to the furniture ombesman.So, they asked Plymouth removers for their response and they had until 22nd of aug to respond and I should have had a decision by the 28th of Aug. I had heard nitgnot and so chased them and eventually got a call from the ombesman, who informed me that they had yet to hear from Plymouth removers, this was on the 12th of September.I eventually head back from the ombesman, who said that as we offered to help and all of our goods were unloaded , they don't see an issue and there is a clause that says they don't move plant or animals, so the fact the lorry was not big enough is not an issue.So don't pay the extra for using a BAR member as it does not guarantee anything and don't use these guys as you don't get the service you pay for or deserve.Next route for me is small claims court and trading standards.
