Copthorne has improved immeasurably since my last stay a couple of years ago. Not as tatty as I remember.Still has very friendly staff. Breakfast is a little one dimensional but restaurant does very good fish.
The rooms are like a hotel from the 80s, all be it with a decent TV, otherwise it was fine. Shower was good and bathroom clean. The gym is a cupboard with a few bits of kit in the basement. Didn't try the food.
Good value for money. Rooms have been updated to modern standards. Good staff. Free breakfast was excellent. Shower pressure was excellent.
Have stayed here myself when in Plymouth, always felt like a valued guest. The staff are very very polite and helpful. So when my daughter was going to a Concert with her friend earlier this year. They were my first thought... I called and booked, and explained it was for my teenage daughter and her friend. They couldn't have been nicer. When your children are just stepping out into adulthood and independence you want to make sure they're safe. This hotel gave me that feeling.. I knew that my daughter and her friend were staying at a hotel that I felt cared about their customers. Thank you so much for looking after them, and taking a great weight off my mind. x
Noisy in the early hours as near student accommodation. Room had no air con so hard to get temperature right. Only 1 bar in hotel so if function also being held at hotel then hard to get served. Staff very good and was able to park in secure hotel car park. Location great for scoring Plymouth and near the train station.
